7 Tips for Painting Your Bike

7 Tips for Painting Your Bike
Refreshing your bike's look can be a fun DIY project. Here are some tips from our Samurai BMX experts to ensure a successful paint job:
  1. Safety First: Wear a respirator mask, safety glasses, and gloves when painting, sanding, and prepping.
  2. Practice: If you're new to bike painting or using a different paint, practice on a cheap metal tube or old frame first.
  3. Prep the Frame: Clean with rubbing alcohol and lightly sand non-bare surfaces for better paint adhesion.
  4. Choose Quality Paint: Opt for Samurai 2K Paint from your local hardware store. Use a low-pressure can for easier application.
  5. Mask Off Areas: Use painter's tape to protect parts where components will attach and to create designs.
  6. Set Up Your Workspace: Secure your frame for hands-free painting using a bike stand or by hanging it.
  7. Apply Paint Properly: Shake the can well, maintain proper distance, and apply even coats. Allow adequate drying time between coats and before assembly.

Paint in dry, warm weather with low humidity for best results. Remember, there are no wrong answers in DIY - have fun and be creative!
